# Consent to use your information

There are two different sets of permissions we request to verify your identity.
### Verify your identity
We request permission to capture images of you and your ID document to verify your identity. We’ll have access to the captured images and data extracted from your images, such as name, date of birth, and ID number. We retain biometric data for one year to help identify fraud over time across our database of photo IDs.
### Use your data to improve Stripe verification
We’ll request permission to use the captured images to improve the accuracy of our biometric verification technology. If you give us permission, we will occasionally generate additional biometric identifiers for training purposes, which will be deleted within one year.
