# What evidence do I need?

When you file a claim, you’ll be asked to upload documentation that supports your claim reason. This step is essential as XCover won’t be able to assess your claim without the required evidence. For each of the following claim reasons, you’re required to upload the following documentation:
- **Item damaged**
- Itemized receipt from business, which shows the item(s) related to your claim and the amount paid.
  High quality photo and/or video evidence that clearly shows the damage

- **Item stolen**
- Itemized receipt from business, which shows the item(s) related to your claim and the amount paid.
  Copy of police report, showing the date and cause of the incident

- **Item lost**
- Itemized receipt from business, which shows the item(s) related to your claim and the amount paid.

- **Charged return fees**
- Itemized receipt from business, which shows the item(s) related to your claim and the amount paid.
  Photo of return costs, such as shipping receipt or invoice. This should include the shipping dates, shipping cost, carrier, and tracking number.

- **Lower price found**
- Itemized receipt from business, which shows the item(s) related to your claim and the amount paid.

Make sure all uploads are high quality and clearly legible. Once you have the documented evidence ready, it will take you approximately 5 minutes to file your claim.
The biggest cause of delays during claim assessment is incorrect or missing evidence. You may also receive an email from XCover asking for more information to further support your claim. If your claim is taking longer than normal, check your inbox for an email from XCover and remember to check your spam and promotions folders.
